Browsing Fashion

Efter secondhand temat tänkte vi att det skulle passa bra att ta en titt på modets historia. " Du kan inte se din framtid om du inte kan ditt förflutna", med andra ord kan det vara både nyttigt och intressant att veta hur folk sett ut och klätt sig genom tiderna. Modet är inte isolerat från allt annat som händer i världen, man kan säga mycket om tidens strömmningar, attityder, ideal och stora omvälvningar genom att granska hur folk velat eller varit tvugna att presentera sig själva. Här tar vi upp förändringarna under 1900 och 2000 talet ur ett västerländsk perspektiv. Speciellt intressanta insikter kommer vi att få när vi jämför detta med hur det ser ut i Japan, S råkar nämligen vara där just nu och har lovat att komma hem med en massa nya intryck och upplevelser!

After the secondhand theme we thought it would be a good idea to go through the history of fashion. "You can't know your future if you don't know your past", in other words, it can be both interesting and enlightening to know how people have looked and dressed through history.
Fashion is not isolated from everything else that heppens in our world, you can say a lot about the dominating movements, attitudes, ideals and events by taking a closer look at how people have wanted or been obligated to present them selves. We will go through the changes during the 20th and 21th century, and from a western point of view. This is an especially interesting perpective since we are going to compare it with Japan later on. S happens to be there right now, and hev promised to come back with loads of interesting insights and experiences!
