Ursäkta för en jätte dålig uppdatering. Äntligen blir det ett nyt veckans tema! Vi har fått mail om varför vi aldrig visar vår stil. Så vi bestämde oss att göra en fotosession med våra kompisar Viivi och Tio. Viivi har samma storlek som JB och Tio har samma storlek som jag SS. Vi kommer att visa hur vi klär oss vid olika tillfällen med svart och grått som bas. Vi vill också visa hur man kan liva upp kläderna med färgranna asessoarer. Vi börjar med S:s festoutfit. Svart fodral, svarta leggnings, rött bälte, röda örhängen och röda skor. Så okomplicerat och så min stil!
Sorry for a really bad update. We finally have a new theme of the week!We've got mails about why we don't show our style of clothing. So we decided to do a photosession with our friends Viivi and Tio. Viivi has the same size as JB and Tio has the same size as me, SS. We want to show you how we would dress in diffrent situations in black and gray as basic clothing. We also want to demonstrate how these "flat" coloured outifits can come to life with colourful acessories. We'll start with S's party outfit. Black top, black leggings, red shoes, red belt and red earrings. So simple and so me!

Rocking the world of the 60's!
Det här albumet har röstats fram till ett av det bästa genom tiderna!
This album has been voted one of the best of all times!
Musiken från 60-talet minns vi och våra föräldrar med nostalgi, vi önskar vi levt då och de vill tillbaka till tiden då det verkligen begav sig! Det var rock musikens guldålder, man brukar säga att rocken föddes på 50 talet, på 60-talet blev den vuxen. Aldrig tidigare hade så många stilbildande, trendsättande och fantastiska band samtidigt erövrat rockscenen. Med tanke på att vissa band fortfarande håller på var det nog riktigt slitstarka band och sound som skapades. Ibland känns det som om mer parten av dagens artister försöker åstadkomma, återskapa det som Beatles, Rolling stones och deras kollegor lyckades med...men det blir bara ett svagt eko av en försvunnen atmosfär, 60-talets rock-klimat helt enkelt rockade!

We and our parents remember the music of the 60's with great nostalgy. We wish we would've been alive and they just want to return to the time, and age that really had some rock n'roll to talk about. It was the golden age of the rock music, one could say that rock was born in the 50's, in the 60's it grew up! Never before had there been so many great, influential, trendsetting bands conquering the rock stage at the same time. Just the fact that many of those bands still exist today, tells us about the great style and sound that was created. Sometimes it feels like most of todays bands are only trying to reach, to achieve the atmosphere that the Beatles, Rolling stones and their collegues stood for...but they only get as far as to a vague impression of a long lost era, the rock climate of the 60's simply rocked!

Flower power!
En viktig stil/livsstil som man inte får glömma när det kommer till 60-talet, är hippie rörelsen. Detta var tiden då USA härjade i Vietnam och hela världen sade sin åsikt. Efter år av krig och efterkrigstid var man optimistisk inför framtiden. Man trodde på att den enskilda människan och på att man tillsammans kunde göra världen bättre. "Peace, love and understanding", till livsstilen hörde en avslappnad syn på världen, samhället och mänskliga relationer. Man sökte livets mening i olika österländska religioner, ur musik, droger och kärlek. Man ifrågasatte samhällets traditionella värderingar, värnade om naturen och gjorde uppror genom aktivism som t.ex. massdemonstrationer. Rockfestivalen Woodstock år 1969 är ett av hippietidens största händelser.
Stilen bär bl.a. etniska influenser från Indien, indianer och zigenare. Lösa sköna bommullskläder, många smycken, långt naturligt hår, flätor, sandaler, en naturnära och bohemisk look. Tänk blommor, tänk gitarrer, kärlek och en gemensam tro på framtiden, inte konstigt att det är en (livs) stil som aldrig riktigt blir omodern.
Jag rekommenderar att du (vem du än är) en vacker sommarkväll sätter dig i närmaste park, tar med några goda vänner, en gitarr, något smått och gott att äta och dricka, leker hippie och njuter av livet, då är det inte svårt att tro på en bättre värld!
One important style/lifestyle of the 60's which is not to be forgotten is the hippie-movement. This is the time when the USA waged war against Vietnam and the world took a stand aginst it. After years of war, and postwar-times there was an optimistic view upon life. The belief that one person could make a difference and that together the world could be changed, was strong. "Peace, love and understanding", the attitude towards the world, the society and the human relations, was relaxed. People were looking for the meaning of life from eastern religions, music, drugs and love. There was a questioning of the traditional values of society, and a will to get back to nature. Poeple acted upon their ideals through activism like huge demonstrations. The rock-festival Woodstock 1969 is one of the most important events in the history of the hippie-movement.

When it comes to the style there are loads of influences from ethnic styles, like india, red-indians and gipsys. Loose, comfortable cotton clothes, a lot of accessories, long, natural hair, brades, sandals, a natural and bohemian look. Think flowers, think guitars, love and a common belief in a better future, it’s no wonder this is a (life) style that never becomes unfashionable.
I recommend that you (who ever you are) go out a beautiful summernight, to the nearest park, take some really good friends with you, a guitar, something to eat and drink, and imagine you’re hippies, enjoy life, then it’s not hard to believe in a better world!

Twiggy-the first supermodel!
Twiggy är mer ett begrepp än ett namn i dagens modevärld. Hon var litet av 60-talets Kate Moss, helt i sin egen klass. Hennes barnsliga, späda kropp, hennes stora ögon och uttrycksfulla ansiktet satte standarden för hur man skulle posera och hur kläderna skulle sitta. Något som håller i sig än, det är delvis genom henne vi har ett sådant magerhetsideal på catwalken idag. Man kan inte neka till att hon har det där lilla extra. Hennes osvikliga nochalans framför kameran ger en känslan av att hon bara är sig själv och det räcker liksom hur långt som helst. Det är definitionen för en riktig ikon!
Twiggy is more of a conception than a name in the fashion world of today! She's something like the Kate Moss of the 60's. Her childlike, slender body, her big eyes and expressive face set the standard for how to pose and how the clothes where to be worn. Something that still works today, it's partially due to her that we have such a skinny ideal on the catwalk. One can't deny that she's got the it-factor. Her apparent nonchalance in front of the camera gives the feeling of her just being her self and that's more than enough. This is the definition of a real icon!

De stora förändringarna i manligt mode syntes i tygen som nu blev mycket lättare och gav en helt annan look. De manliga kostymerna blev nu mer figurnära med den påföljden att män såg mera kritiskt på sin kropp. Byxor som blev smalare nedtill kombinerades med "winkle picker" skor. Dessa skor hade alltså långa spetsiga tår. Jeans var populärare nu än någonsin och färggranna t-skjortor med blommiga mönster likaså. Unga män ville alltmera ha axellångt hår och kvinnor kort. Polon lyckades aldrig ersätta slips. Arbetar jackor i manchester tyg och Mao jackor blev mer är bara politiska uttalanden. Kostymer i tre delar (kavaj, byxor och väst) lyckades överleva även om det fanns försök att införa alternativa ”futuristiska” förslag.

The major change in menswear in the 60’s was in the weight of the fabric used. The choice of materials and the method of manufacture produced a suit that, because it was lighter in weight, had a totally different look. It had a line that was closer to the natural shape of the body. This caused that men had to look at their figures more critically. Narrow pants were worn by the fashionable young with 'winkle picker' shoes. These shoes have sharp and quite long pointed toes. The popularity of jeans grew and it served to a radical change in the male wardrobe. Young men grew their hair down to their collars at the same time that short hair was more desired by women. Men added a touch of color and even floral motives, to their shirts. The polo neck never succeeded in replacing the tie, but the adoption of the workman's jacket in rough corduroy, and especially the Mao jacket proved to be more than simply a political statement. There a few futuristic propositions for men’s suits but the three-piece suit still survived intact.
