Balansera ett spräckligt tyg med mera jordnära, bleka färger. Blommiga mönster är ju väldigt inne just nu. Blommiga klänningar kan kännas lite tantiga ibland och då kommer läderjackan och räddar outfiten med att bryta den känslan!

Etno är aldrig fel, speciellt till sommaren. De klara färgerna, designen och de häftiga mönstren i etniskt inspirerad mode ger en mer feminin look. Matcha gärna kläderna med ett par stora örhängen och ett par armband. Sommartiden till ära!

Det är bara såååååå roligt att gå runt i loppisar. Den här loppisen var faktiskt en riktig guldgruva. Man var liksom på skattjakt då allt var liksom huller om buller och ändå lyckades man hitta pärlor och diamanter. Några av dem ser ni på vår modell Sonja Vanhanen som har en standard "finsk" kroppsbyggnad och storlek, vilket var ypperligt eftersom de flesta kläder passade utmärkt på henne! Tyvärr så kommer vi inte ihåg namnet på loppisen men den låg på Aningaisgatan i Åbo bredvid frälsningsarméns loppis.

It's sooo much fun to shop and window shop in second hand shops. This one though was a real goldmine. Walking around in this shop felt like a treasure hunt. Everything in this shop was mixed up and upside down but you could still find diamonds and pearls. You can see some of them on our model Sonja Vanhanen who has standard "finnish" body structure and size, which was excellent because most of the clothes suited her soooo well! Unfortunately, we don't remember the name this shop but it lies on Aninkaistenkatu in Turku next to the The Salvation Army's sechond hand shop.

Vad är det för skillnad? What's the difference?
I många sammanhang används vintage och secondhand som synonymer. Det finns dock en stor skillnad mellan vad man ursprungligen menade med begreppen. Vintage är ett begrepp som kommer från engelskan och betyder ungefär "en bra årgång". Man använder begreppet om varor och produkter som är äldre och av god kvalitet. Man kan t.e.x. prata om vintage viner, då syftar man på anrika viner som är gjorda av de bästa druvorna.
I modesammanhang används vintage om kläder från en annan tidsera, somliga anser att vintage kläder måste vara minst 25 år gamla, detta är dock en tolkningsfråga. I vissa sammanhang talar man om vintage så fort det handlar om kläder från någon tidigare, betydelsefull modeströmmning som t.e.x. 90-talets grunge mode. Skillnaden mellan vintage och retro är att retrokläder är ny producerade efter en gamal modell, vintage däremot är en produkt som tillverkades i ett autentiskt, kulturellt sammanhang som hör stilen till.
Secondhandkläder är precis som begreppet antyder andra hands-varor. Det kan vara frågan om precis vad som helst, dålig kvalitet eller bra, nytt eller gammalt, lump eller t.o.m. oanvända plagg. Secondhandkläder säljs i secondhandbutiker, de har sällan det samlar- eller egenvärde som vintagekläder kan ha. Secondhand är ett begrepp som är tätt sammankopplat med välgörenhet. Många secondhandorganisationer skänker en del av inkomsten till välgörande ändamål. Kläderna fås ofta genom insamlingslådor av privatpersoner, i princip istället för att slängas bort. Därför bör secondhand kläder alltid vara mycket billigare än nya, vintage däremot kan och kostar ofta mer, det är som antikviteter i klädform.

Vintage means a good years issue's, the word is used in describing goods and products that are older and of good quality. Vintage wine for example is a traditional wine made off the highest quality grapes.
In clothing and fashion, vintage is used for clothes from another era, some state that they have to be at least 25 years old to carry the vintage label. This is though highly debated and in some cases any kind of clothing made in an earlier and somewhat important fashionmovement is vintage. Grunge for example is called 90's vintage. The difference between vintage and retro is in retro being a remaking of older fashion-patterns, while vinatge is a product created in the autenthic, cultural concistency of the distinct time and style.
Secondhand is as the name imlpies products that have already belonged to someone else before reaching your hands. It can be of any kind of quality and style, new or old, rags or never used before. Second hand clothes are distributed in secondhand shops, and seldom have the same collectors-value as vintage clothes can have. Secondhand is closely connected to charity. Many shops give some of the profit to a good cause. The clothes are often collected in special containers where private persons leave them instead of throwing them in the trash. Because of this they should always be a lot cheaper than new clothes, vintage on the other hand can and is often more expensive, it's like antiques in the form of clothing.

Tråkigt men viktigt! Boring but somehow important information about shoes!
Ett annat sätt att känna igen läder är genom att söka efter en sådan bild på skor. Bilden finns ofta som ett klistermärke endera i eller under skorna. Den första symbolen betyder att över delen av skon är gjord av läder. Den andra betyder att även sulan är gjord av läder den tredje betyder att skons inre del är gjord av annat material. Salmiakformad symbolen är alltså fejk läder eller gummi eller annat material men INTE läder.
Another way of recognizing leather shoes is to look for symbols as shown above. They are often in form of stickers on the shoes. The first one means that the upper part of the shoe is made of leather, the second symbol means that the sole of the shoe is made of leather and the third one means that the lining of the shoe is made of other or synthetic material. Diamond symbol indicates that the material could be anything else BUT leather.
Den svåraste kombinationen när det gäller skor att hitta sådana som är BÅDE snygga och praktiska. Vem vill traska omkring i goretex skor jämt bara för att vi är välsingnade med ett klimat som detta?Nej! Det finns faktiskt vissa knep som kan hjälpa en att hitta den gyllene medelvägen.
För det första: Klack! Inte sky hög, men en liten klack är nödvändig både av ergonomiska och slask-orsaker. Om du har en liten klack blir fötterna inte lika trötta eftersom de stöds och dessutom hålls de toarrare. För det andra, inte plast eller mocka (tyvärr!), men läder. Läder håller längre, det är ett material som både andas, isolerar och töjer, d.v.s. formar sig efter foten. Du kan kolla om ett par skor är läder genom att dofta på dem, de ska helt enkelt ha en doft som inte är plast, eller så kollar du in i skon, där dragkedjan sitter eller någon annan söm där du kan se materialets baksida. Lädrets baksida är mocka, d.v.s. inte en plastig jämn yta.
Och sist, men ändå mycket viktigt: Om du investerar i ett par bekväma, hållbara läderskor lönar det sig att köpa ett par såpass stilrena att du inte tröttnar på dem i första taget, eftersom de nog kan kosta en slant, därför rekommenderar jag en mörk färg. Detta också för att slitage inte syns så snabbt och underhållet är lättare än med andra färger!
The hardest combination with shoes is finding both good looking AND practical ones. Who wants to walk around in Goretex-shoes all the time just because we are blessed with such a climate? No one! Luckily there are some good points to think about in order to find the best combination of vanity and comfort.
First: Heels! Not sky high ones, but at least some kind of heel is important both ergonomically and with the slush in consideration. The heels keep your feet from getting too tired and wet. Secondly: not plastic, not suede (a pity!) but leather. Leather lasts longer, and it's a material that both breathes, isolates and gets reshaped according to your own foot. You can check wether it's leather by either smelling the material, it should have a slight fragrance that isn't plastic, or check around the zipper so that you can see the back of the material. The other side of leather is actually suede, so there shouldn't be a smooth, plastic surface.
And last but not least important: If you invest in a pair of good looking, comfortable shoes, it's a good idea to buy them in a timeless model and darker color. They might not be too cheep and therefor a pair of black or brown shoes don't get worn out as easily and they are easier to take care of than other colors!

Tro aldrig att du kommer undan med fula skor, skorna är minst lika viktiga som slipsen, om inte viktigare. Trots det finns det inga definitiva regler för vilka skor du har till vilka kläder. Sneakers till kavajbyxor går hur bra som helst, eller varför inte ett par snygga läderskor till jeansen!
Don't ever think you'll get away with bad shoes, they are just as important as the tie if not even more important. Apart from that, there are no definite rules to which shoes you can wear to a certain clothing. Why not try sneakers to a pair of nice looking pants or leather shoes with jeans! 
Yes, we still love them red shoes!
